Our Story

Our owner and curator Wendy Lepore spent her summers at Lake Winnipesaukee every year since age 12. Every year, the day after school let out, her mom had the car packed and ready to go. Though disappointed at the idea of leaving her friends behind in Massachusetts, Wendy and her siblings would head to the Lake for the summer.
Wendy’s first job was in Center Harbor at Anderson’s Bakery. Every morning at 7 o’clock on the dot she would jump in the families tiny boat, in her blue and yellow uniform and motored over to Center Harbor to assist with baking and serving the customers. Her family still has the little ‘A’ frame on Moultonborough Neck.
When she ventured back up to the Lake in the Spring of 2016 to open the family cottage, she noticed one of her favorite stores, the Glass Knob, had closed and was for sale. After returning home back in Boston, she thought about it for a day and then called and made an offer to purchase the beautiful Antique Cape, which was built in 1840.
Ensemble at the Lake is the fifth store that Wendy has owned and operated. Ensemble at the Lake is an extension of the EnsembleBoston store with even more exciting offerings!
Curating this location is wonderful, with a mix of vintage and contemporary styles that are wonderfully displayed throughout the carriage house, back porch, living room and kitchen of the antique house. The inventory is constantly changing, and Wendy attends auctions regularly to bring all sorts of wonderful items through our doors.
We are very excited to welcome you into our business and cannot wait to share all of our amazing pieces with you, your family and friends.
